Auxerre dons the colors of AJA in support of its club

D-3 before the meeting between AJA and Amiens, for the 38th day of Ligue 2. Currently third in the standings, one point behind second AC Ajaccio, the Ajaists can still hope for the rise to the first division without going through the playoffs. And this hope, it is in the atmosphere, almost everywhere and in particular rue du Temple, in Auxerre.

Over there, the shop windows are are adorned with colors club blue and white.

Support for the home straight

Alexandra, manager of a women’s ready-to-wear store, is rather proud from his window. “I made a strapless dress, blue and white and I also posted on the window a poster of the match and a photo of the composition of the team” she describes enthusiastically.

For her, these decorations are very important. It’s a way for us to support the club and we really hope that the players will manage to climb in Ligue 1” she concludes.

Same story with Didier, manager of the bar Le Mazagran, rue du Pont. What is certain is that this atmosphere reminds him of the good old days. When we were in Ligue 1, we played against big European teams, like Ajax. I remember, for the joke, we had displayed cans of Ajax detergent” he says.

I really want to see them again in Ligue 1

The installation of decorations, it’s an initiative that comes from Florence Dussol, president of the association of merchants on rue du Temple and manager of the La Broc store. “We see a new dynamism since the decorations were put in place” she says. Decorating the city center of Auxerre in the colors of the AJA, it’s an idea she had six months ago.

Anyway, we will support them until the end” she concludes, determined.

The association of merchants on rue du Temple even has one last surprise in store for the people of Auxerre: a banner will be hung at the top of rue du Temple, Saturday morning.
