Australian sprinter Caleb Ewan winner of the race

The 89th edition of the Fourmies Cycling Grand Prix has its winner: Caleb Erwan, from the Lotto-Soudal team. The Australian edged out main favorites Fabio Jakobsen and Dylan Groenewegen, who finished second. Caleb Ewan succeeds the Italian Elia Viviani on the list.

In women, 23-year-old Frenchwoman Clara Copponi wins the race after a furious sprint against the Italian Alessia Vigilia. This is the first time that a Frenchwoman has finished the race on the top step of the podium. The Northerner Victoire Berteau (Cofidis) finished in thirtieth place, after leading the race for a long time.

The third edition of the women’s cycling race, otherwise known as the Chroalis Fourmies, started at around 11:15 a.m., preceding the men’s race. 22 teams were announced at the start, for nearly 150 participants.
