Australian international Sam Kerr, one of the female football stars, was charged with racially insulting a police officer in the United Kingdom, AFP learned on Monday March 4 from the British police.

The facts date back to January 30, 2023 in Twickenham, in the southwest suburbs of London, said a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police. They occurred while a police officer intervened in response to a dispute over the fare of a taxi ride. Chelsea FC player Sam Kerr appeared before a Wimbledon court on February 1.
