Aurélien Rousseau resigns from the Ministry of Health, the interim is provided by Agnès Firmin Le Bodo

A first resignation within the executive. The Minister of Health, Aurélien Rousseau, has left the government. Government spokesperson Olivier Véran therefore confirmed, Wednesday December 20, the resignation of the minister, “absent this morning at the Council of Ministers”. Aurélien Rousseau dissociated himself from the immigration bill, voted on Tuesday evening in the National Assembly and the Senate. He had declared to WorldTuesday evening, that he “did not give left-wing or moral lessons to anyone” but he noticed “clinically than this[était] not possible for [lui] to explain this text”.

The interim at the Ministry of Health will be ensured by Agnès Firmin Le Bodo, the Minister Delegate in charge of Territorial Organization and Health Professions.

Former member of the PCF in his youth, then senior civil servant and former director of the Ile-de-France Regional Health Agency during the health crisis, this 47-year-old man was appointed at the end of July to the ministry, at the opportunity for a reshuffle, succeeding François Braun.
