(L’Assomption) Prime Minister François Legault announced financial assistance of 2 million for the Cité Mémoire L’Assomption project, a production which aims to highlight the history of the town of L’Assomption, its builders and its heritage.
The Prime Minister was in his constituency Friday morning to participate in the announcement of a project which “will enrich the cultural and tourist offerings of the region”.
Cité Mémoire L’Assomption, a production created by the organization Montréal en Histoires, in collaboration with the artists Michel Lemieux and Michel Marc Bouchard, will allow visitors an audiovisual experience on a one-kilometer route in Vieux L’Assomption.
“Cité Mémoire will allow young and old alike to learn more about the rich heritage and history of the people of L’Assomption. I am proud that we are promoting our heritage with initiatives like this. Knowing our history, remembering where we come from, is fundamental for our national and regional memory,” said the Prime Minister.
François Legault compared the project to Cité Mémoire Montréal, a multimedia urban tour deployed throughout Old Montreal, also created by the organization Montréal en Histoires.
The route should be offered free to visitors from 2025, 12 months a year.
