Audi: an airbag may not deploy

Audi A4 (2017), A5 (2018), RS5 (2018 and 2019), S4 and S5 (2018) owners will need to make an appointment with their dealership to correct a defect in the front passenger detection sensor. This may not detect the presence of a seated person and thus not activate the airbag. In the event of such a defect, the “Passenger Airbag Off” indicator light would illuminate, in addition to the presence of an error message in the digital instrumentation unit. The workshops will make the necessary repairs free of charge on the 35,107 affected vehicles.
