Emblematic singer of French music, Juliette Gréco, who died in 2020, still fascinates the French as much. They were able to buy at auction, Saturday, November 20, many items belonging to him.

Deceased in 2020 after a very long career, Juliette Gréco is anchored in French culture, and in particular in the musical landscape of France. Some of its property is now owned by citizens. An auction took place on Saturday, November 20. Nearly 750 different and varied lots, ranging from the golden address book to the automatons she collected, not to mention her luxury outfits, were put on sale. “It’s really his life”, assures Paul-Louis Flandrin, sales expert Crait + Müller.

Many lots are gifts offered by his admirers, including a painting painted by Serge Gainsbourg. “He gave this painting to my grandmother, in friendship, and she loved it very much and she kept it all her life”, declares Julie-Amour Rossini. The work was sold for 134,400 euros. Perfumes and earthenware services, which could have had their place in a museum, were also put on sale. The sale was desired by the artist before his death, allowed to generate more than one million euros in profits.
