“Attitude(s)”, Johnny Jane | The duty

The sensation of the moment across the Atlantic piques curiosity with its Attitude(s). The first record by Frenchman Johnny Jane, after three microalbums, is a delight of hypersensitive pop-rock thanks to simple, yet moving lyrics – sometimes spleentic, sometimes cheerful. From the first listen, a little something pleasant strikes: the singer-songwriter offers a dozen original songs imbued with the spirit of the French touch and the Strokes, especially its leader, Julian Casablancas (very 2000s, saturated voice). The whole, very coherent, thus evokes in us a sweet nostalgia while being authentic, with pieces which surf on the excellent new wave of current French-speaking variety (Lescop, Zaho de Sagazan, Juliette Armanet, etc.). A nod to the legend Johnny Hallyday (and his title That I love you) is hiding somewhere in Attitude(s)…The first reader to find it wins (lots of satisfaction)!
