Attempted murder of Leonardo Rizzuto | The Sûreté du Québec is asking for the public’s help to advance its investigation

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) hopes the public can provide information to help solve the attempted murder of Leonardo Rizzuto, youngest son of late Montreal mob boss Vito Rizzuto, in Laval on Wednesday.

The SQ launched a call on Thursday afternoon for witnesses to the attempted murder that occurred in Laval the day before.

Wednesday, “around 4:30 p.m., a black Mercedes vehicle was traveling on Highway 440 westbound, recalls the SQ in a press release. While he was near exit 17 (exit for highway 13), a second vehicle found itself at his side and fired several times in the direction of the Mercedes vehicle. »

According to our information, Rizzuto was driving and would have been alone in the car. Everything indicates that he then drove for tens of meters before coming to a stop in the parking lot of the Yves Légaré funeral home in Laval.

After the salvo of gunfire, the suspect vehicle continued on its way west, on Highway 440, continues the SQ.

“Anyone who witnessed the event, who has information or who may have images of the event (dashboard camera), is invited to contact the Criminal Information Center at 1- 800-659-4264,” the statement read.
