Attempted murder in Quebec | A woman was arrested

(Quebec) A woman well known to police circles was arrested a few hours after an attempted murder in Quebec.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, was discovered bleeding during the night from Thursday to Friday along Saint-David Avenue, in the Beauport sector. It was a passerby who called the police on April 5, around 12:20 a.m.

The man was stabbed and was in critical condition when taken to hospital, but his condition had stabilized over the weekend.

“The latter was injured by a stab […] As we speak, the latter is still hospitalized,” said Sergeant David Poitras, spokesperson for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ), on Saturday.

The suspect in this case is a 27-year-old woman. She was arrested during Friday evening in the St-Roch neighborhood by investigators from the SPVQ Serious Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Tactical Intervention Group (GTI).

“When the suspect in this case was arrested, the police noticed that she was wanted for four arrest warrants concerning cases that were not related to the attempted murder. These are arrest warrants which also came from other jurisdictions (in the province),” indicated Sergeant Poitras.

The victim and suspect know each other, but the motive for the crime is unknown at this time.

“Our investigation established that there is no link at the level of criminal groups in this case. The victim and the suspect knew each other. On the other hand, there does not seem to be any relationship beyond knowledge,” underlined the SPVQ spokesperson.

The 27-year-old woman was expected to appear during the day on Saturday. She could notably face a charge of attempted murder.

The SPVQ investigation continues.
