A 22-year-old man known to police circles was hit by a firearm projectile near a park on Wednesday in broad daylight in the borough of Montreal-Nord.

This attempted murder occurred at 1:40 p.m. on Joseph-Dufresne Street, opposite Lacordaire Park.
According to initial information, the young man shot in the upper body was conscious when transported to hospital.
“The victim is an individual known to the police,” added Julien Lévesque, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
He was very close to his vehicle when the shooter or shooters attacked him, before leaving the scene.
There have been no arrests in this case. A security perimeter has been set up in rue Joseph-Dufresne to allow investigators and technicians to analyze the crime scene.
