A septuagenarian was shot on Sunday, late morning, in a commercial parking lot in Laval. The police, who are treating the case as attempted murder, have opened an investigation and erected a large security perimeter in the area.
According to our information, the victim was in his vehicle in front of a branch of the Société des alcools (SAQ), when one or more individuals fired several times at him, injuring his leg.
It all happened around 11:30 a.m., at the corner of boulevard des Laurentides and avenue des Lacasse, in Laval.
According to agent Stéphanie Beshara, spokesperson for the Laval Police Service (SPL), the victim, a 78-year-old man, was hit by several projectiles. He was transported to an emergency hospital, but there is no fear for his life.
“An investigation has been opened for attempted murder. We have erected a security perimeter in the parking lot, so for the moment, we are asking people to avoid the area, ”briefly commented on Mr.me Beshara, without going any further.
Verifications will be made to determine if the victim was known to the police.
