An attempted “home jacking” took place in the 16th arrondissement of Paris during the night from Saturday to Sunday at the home of journalist Anne-Sophie Lapix, franceinfo learned on Sunday January 21 from a source close to the case and from the Paris prosecutor’s office. Five people were arrested shortly before 4 a.m., including two minors. They are currently in police custody.

He is one of the sons of the presenter of the 8 p.m. news on France 2 who managed to put the burglars to flight. In their car, the police found a firearm, screwdrivers and rolls of adhesive tape likely to be used to hinder the victims. According to the first elements of the investigation, the police had started surveillance in front of the home of Anne-Sophie Lapix since Tuesday, after the presenter had put away a man who was trying to force the front door of her home with a crowbar.

It was precisely during the rounds that they were carrying out that the BAC night police officers spotted a suspicious car last night, with five people on board. The police discreetly followed the car until it parked next to Anne-Sophie Lapix’s home. The latter, hidden by hoods and scarves, climbed the entrance gate of the journalist’s home, crossed a small garden, until Anne-Sophie Lapix’s son heard a noise and managed to film the burglars with his cell phone.
