Reshuffle: Attal to Matignon would be “a form of casualness” towards the Ministry of Education according to the general secretary of the LR, Annie Genevard – (FRANCEINFO)
After Elisabeth Borne presented her resignation on Monday January 8, the name of Gabriel Attal was circulating to replace her. Reaction from Annie Genevard, MP for Doubs and general secretary of LR 19/20 info.
If Annie Genevard, deputy for Doubs and general secretary of the LR, underlines the importance “to wait for confirmation of the appointment” by Gabriel Attal, she salutes the work of the current Minister of Education, who “succeeded in a few months in making a mark” within his ministry. “From there to building majorities, I believe that whatever the personality chosen for Matignon by the President of the Republic, the fact remains that there is no majority in the National Assembly, and that “we cannot, a priori, decree that it will be easier for Gabriel Attal than it was for Elisabeth Borne”she reacts.
Attal to Matignon, a “casualness”?
Ban on the abaya, uniform, level classes… Are the themes explored by Gabriel Attal suitable for the right? “They can only suit us, since it is we who made these proposals (…). I recognize Gabriel Attal for the courage to have clearly announced them, and his desire to implement them”comments Annie Genevard.
“If it is he who is appointed to Matignon, I will regret that ultimately, as he begins to leave his mark, he is removed from National Education, even if only for Matignon”continues the Doubs MP, according to whom this appointment would mean “a form of casualness towards a ministry which he says is one of his priorities”.
