The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) arrested on Friday morning a woman suspected of having attacked the daughter of columnist Nathalie Collard and host and columnist Richard Martineau, in the Lionel-Groulx metro station, on April 4 last year.
The alleged perpetrator of the attack was arrested by officers from the Metro Section while she was in a park, according to a press release from the SPVM.
The suspect must appear today at the Montreal courthouse on a charge of assault causing bodily harm. The alleged perpetrator was “quickly identified after receipt of a complaint by the Metro Section,” indicates the SPVM.
The attack took place around midnight, while the victim was waiting for the metro. An agitated woman, getting out of a subway car, hit the young woman in the face, leaving her shaken, but not causing serious injury. The SPVM informed the victim of the suspect’s arrest.
