ATP Rankings | Sinner takes off, Alcaraz and Zverev threaten Djokovic

(Paris) Jannik Sinner takes the lead in the ATP rankings after his final victory on Monday at the Cincinnati Masters 1000, where Novak Djokovic (2e), the defending champion, was out.

While the Italian is filling up, the Serb, who skipped this tournament after his Olympic victory, has lost the 1000 points from last year and is now more than 2300 points behind his young rival, according to this new ranking published on Tuesday.

Less than a week before the US Open, where he will also defend his title, “Djoko”, 37, is now even being followed by the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (only 100 points difference) and the German Alexander Zverev (4e).

Finalist in Ohio, the American Frances Tiafoe, 26, took advantage of the opportunity to re-enter the Top 20, gaining seven places.

His compatriot Ben Shelton, 21, achieved the best ranking of his career in 13e position (+1).
