(Washington) Ronald Acuña Jr. joined a select club by hitting his 40th on Friday nighte home run of the season for the Atlanta Braves.
With his 68 stolen bases, Acuña became the fifth player in major league history to have at least 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in the same season.
Other players to have achieved the feat are Alfonso Soriano with the Washington Nationals in 2006, Alex Rodríguez with the Seattle Mariners in 1998, Barry Bonds with the San Francisco Giants in 1996 and Jose Canseco with the Oakland Athletics in 1988 .
Aged 25, Acuña was already the only player in major league history to have had 30 long balls and 60 stolen bases in the same season.
