Athletics | Audrey Leduc lowers the Canadian mark over 200 meters

After the Canadian 100m record, here is the Canadian 200m record which is added to the list of achievements of Quebec sprinter Audrey Leduc.

Leduc won the 200m event at the Edwin Moses Track and Field Meet in Atlanta on Friday evening. By stopping the clock at 22.36 s, Leduc lowered by 14 hundredths the record of 22.50 s which had belonged to Ontarian Crystal Emmanuel since 2017.

At the end, the Quebecer beat the American Tamari Davis by 0.03 seconds. Another American, Kennedy Flannel, followed, in 23.13 s.

This time of 22.36 s for Leduc is the 15e world performance over the distance this year. The 25-year-old sprinter had never done better than 22.77 seconds before.

Remember that Leduc lowered the Canadian 100m record in April, in 10.96 seconds, during a race in Louisiana.

Leduc should formalize his qualification for the Paris Olympic Games during the Canadian Championships, held in Montreal at the end of the month.
