At least 35 dead are to be deplored in an attack against the station of Kramatorsk, in the east of Ukraine. A missile fell on Friday, April 8, on hundreds of civilians who were trying to flee by boarding trains. “It’s carnage,” say the authorities, who blame Russia.
Two missiles have just fallen on Kramatorsk station, Friday, April 8. Bodies still litter the ground near the docks. Civilians were killed as they tried to flee by train. “Everything exploded all of a sudden”, says a Ukrainian. The special correspondents of France Télévisions know this station very well, they have been filming there for three days. It is the place where the civilians who leave this region in the east of Ukraine are gathered.
A woman is in tears, one of her relatives was killed instantly. In front of the station, a man is dazed. He had just arrived with his grandmother, at the time of the strike. “I just pulled his lifeless body out of the car. I had gone to buy cigarettes there and it bombarded”, he says. In front of the station, one of the two Russian missiles lies on the lawn, with an inscription which means “For our children”. Kramatorsk station is now synonymous with indiscriminate violence. Many of the injured are still between life and death in hospitals in the region.
