at the start of the pandemic, “ministers told me that I was too worried”, regrets Agnès Buzyn

The former Minister of Health, who “does not seek anything other than to expose the reality of the facts”has claimed not to have been listened to enough at the time. “I said, publicly at several councils of ministers, that if it spread, we could have 100,000 dead. (…) Ministers told me that they thought I was too worried, like all the doctors”, assures the former member of the government who is indictment for his management of the first weeks of the pandemic.

HASGnès Buzyn nevertheless believes that France has been “the first, in Europe, to act”. “We made extremely quick decisions”especially on masks, she believes. “The first order was launched on January 25”while there was only “24 dead in China”, she assures. Masks were however greatly lacking in France, at the start of the epidemic.

The hematologist by profession claims to have continued to be obsessed with the epidemic even once propelled in emergency as a candidate for the majority in the municipal elections, in Paris. “I was no longer in business, the president had advisers, and their opinions obviously disagreed with mine”she explains, to justify the fact that she has not, according to her, been listened to.

According to information published Tuesday in The world, the former Minister of Health already claimed that she had alerted Emmanuel Macron and Edouard Philippe in January 2020, but that she had not “not the impression of being heard”. “I was, by far in Europe, the most alert minister. But no one cared”she insisted according to comments reported by the daily, which says it had access to a diary written by the ex-minister during the pandemic. The world reports numerous text messages addressed to the Head of State and his former Prime Minister, the first on January 11, 2020, about the epidemic that appeared in China, which then did not appear “not yet in the media” but who “can go up”she wrote.
