The table of The Mona Lisa, exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris, was doused with soup by two environmental activists on Sunday January 28, according to a video filmed by independent journalist Clément Lanot. The images show that the world’s most famous painting appears to have suffered no damage, since it was the armored glass that was soiled and not the canvas itself. The museum has activated a crisis unit: the room where the work is located was immediately evacuated and is being cleaned.
