“Do well with nothing, do better with little, but do it now”here is the motto of the KinoCaen cinema event. A festival of creation and distribution of short films organized by the eponymous association. Since 2011, every year, more than two hundred participants meet for a week to write and direct short films.
Only one constraint: the participants have seventy-two hours to make a film of less than five minutes. For this 11th edition, it is at the Foz theater to Caen that the organizers of the event have set up the various filming locations made available to participants. These latter have, nevertheless, the authorization to film in other buildings of the Norman city.
For 25 euros of registration, it is a creative opportunity which is offered for all those who wish to see their work succeed on the big and small screen. “What’s great is that we can collaborate with several people, such as technicians for example. This allows us to have contacts for the future”, Explain Annabella Hawk, artist and musical composer. “We also produces with the means at hand which are very good. It gives a good image when we don’t necessarily have a budget.”
The Caen film event is also an opportunity for several entertainment workers to try out a new way of working. Under pressure, but in joy and good humor. Opinion shared by Miguel De Brito, cameraman. “We are all brought together by the desire to create films and tell stories. We can just have fun”.
Two screening sessions of the 27 films of the festival KinoCaen will take place this Tuesday, May 3 at 8 p.m. as well as May 6, 2022 at Cargo of Caen. Programming is available on the Music Scene website. FREE ENTRANCE.
