At the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges, the pop group Phaon will defend the colors of Limousin

Like every year for 36 years, the selection of the Inouïs of the Printemps de Bourges has completed its regional young talent auditions. Selected in the “pop-song” category, the group Phaon, which will represent Limousin, tirelessly repeats its concert on April 23. A capital step that can launch a national career.

Phaon, it is above all the story of four friends from Limoges. After three tracks released in the form of a “Triptych” in 2018, the group affirmed its sound by rubbing shoulders with stage experience. In residence at the Salle des tomorrows that sing in Tulle, the limougeaud group is fine-tuning its scenography. Objective: to shine at the concert of the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges. “The advantage is to have a scenic aspect that is equivalent to work on the set of the Inouïs for D-Day”, assures the singer Matthieu Deligne.

Selected among the 70 applications from Limousin, Phaon will compete against seven other groups from all over France in the “pop song” category. Thirty minutes of concert and nothing but unreleased tracks. A real springboard for all emerging groups. The stakes are high, and the members of the group measure it. “It’s an opportunity to make yourself known a little more nationally but also to make yourself known by professionals in the field who could accompany the group and be partners afterwards,“Explains Matthew again.

Another advantage of this selection, to benefit from artistic and technical support offered by the Printemps de Bourges during all their rehearsals. “Les Inouïs is an event, it allows you to have real visibility and to see the emerging groups of the region”, assures Fred Lomey, head of the Printemps branch in Bourges en Limousin.

The music of Phaon clearly claims 80s pop influences with texts in French carried by the singular voice of Matthieu Maligne. The soaring melodies with rock accents bathe in synthetic harmonies mixed with dark bass lines refined in the studio.

Located at the border of several universes of yesterday and today, Bronski Beat at BRNSof Lescop at Fire! Chatterton, Phaon found its name in Greek mythology. A man famous for his beauty. A name that sounds like an epic. The group does not hesitate to make us travel to distant lands evoking vertiginous paintings with multiple meanings.

Les Inouis du Printemps de Bourges present this year 32 groups in 5 different categories (Song, Hip hop, electro, rock, urban).

The concerts of the 36th edition of Inouïs are scheduled from April 20 to 23, 2022.
