Tuesday, September 13, the news of 20 Hours goes to a rehabilitation center in kyiv, Ukraine. The establishment is responsible for treating soldiers and civilians who, after bombardments, have been amputated.

In a rehabilitation institute in kyiv (Ukraine), Andrei Sobkovskyi, 20, had both legs amputated after a missile strike in March 2022. “I thank God that I am still alive. Everything is still possible”, he assures. After his accident, he no longer wanted to live. Tuesday, September 13, he is in a rehabilitation center which treats 50 victims, civilians and soldiers. Young, the soldiers are in solidarity with each other and assume their disability in front of the camera.

Another Ukrainian soldier was wounded, he was taken prisoner by the Russians, who operated on him, then released. “I understood straight away that I was going to be amputated and I also realized that my genitals were not affected and that was a reason for hope”, testifies Vladislav Zhayvoronok, 29 years old. Most men now want to return to the front. Civilians are also present in the center. “I didn’t want to live anymore after that, I had a kind of huge depression”explains Natalia Burlachka, 56, who had a leg amputated.
