The winner of the Paris Match grand prize for student photoreportage Antoine Wdowczynski returns to the 11 p.m. set on his report “A race for life”.

The 19th winner of the Paris Match grand prize for student photoreportage Antoine Wdowczynski wanted to show the reality and intensity of this race against the watch that meet every day those who allow organ donation and transplantation in France. The young photojournalist was able to follow the journey of a transplant surgeon from the Foch hospital for two days, from organ removal to transplantation, including transport, which is a real race for life.

Asked about this choice of such an intense subject for his report, the young photojournalist replied: “I like everything that is taboo and trying to reveal it. Organ donationarethe fact that it’s taboo, that few people talk about it, I wanted to play it down”.

From doctors to drivers, but also nurses or escorts, Antoine Wdowczynski wanted “put the whole chain of organ donation on a pedestal” which allows thousands of transplants each year.
