At the foot of the little-known Himalayas | The Himalayas that we don’t know

We think we know the Himalayas. Well no. Independent filmmaker Alain Wodey promises to show us another side of the region, far from the high snow-capped peaks, as part of the next performance of Les Grands Explorateurs.

At the foot of the little-known Himalayas explores Arunachal Pradesh, a state in northeastern India located at the foot of the great mountain range. There are subtropical forests, tribal populations, fertile plains and a large river, the Brahmaputra.

The film focuses on the landscapes, obviously, but also on the culture of a population which has long been isolated from the rest of the outside world. Indeed, until 1995, foreigners did not have access to the region.

The tour from At the foot of the little-known Himalayas will begin on January 13 in Sherbrooke and end on February 18 in Gatineau.
