At PSG, supporters want player recruitment “based on sporting needs”, rather than notoriety

97% of Paris Saint-Germain supporters believe that players should be recruited solely on the basis of sporting needs and not their notoriety, according to a consultation of 3,000 supporters by France Bleu Paris. This is the proposal that is the most popular with voters.

A thousand proposals were collected over three weeks. Forty of them were selected by France Bleu Paris and put to the vote. 3,000 people participated, representing 120,000 votes.

Among the other very popular proposals, the creation of a recruitment cell is approved by 92%, and the creation of a mental coaching cell desired by 88% of fans. As for the sports management of the club, 85% of supporters are asking for more playing time for young people from the Training Center.

On the other hand, some proposals did not convince the supporters. 52% of fans are against one “naming” [la dénomination publicitaire d’une enceinte sportive] of the Parc des Princes, even if it is “from a partner with strong ethics with a large financial contribution”. As for the place of the supporters, only 40% of the supporters consulted think that it is necessary “establish a system of socios”that is to say where each supporter becomes a shareholder and can participate in decisions.
