“At my age, some things become clearer than ever”assured the 81-year-old Democrat during an energetic speech lasting a little over an hour, even joking: “I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I’ve been here a long time.”

The outgoing president directly criticized his rival Donald Trump. “My predecessor, a former Republican president, told Putin ‘do what you want.’ That’s a quote, a former president actually said that, submitting to a Russian leader. I think it’s outrageous.
