A speech to stand out and start the presidential campaign. President Joe Biden, candidate for re-election, responded Thursday, March 7 to criticism of his age, which worries voters, during his State of the Union speech.
“At my age, some things become clearer than ever”assured the 81-year-old Democrat during an energetic speech lasting a little over an hour, even joking: “I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I’ve been here a long time.”
The outgoing president directly criticized his rival Donald Trump. “My predecessor, a former Republican president, told Putin ‘do what you want.’ That’s a quote, a former president actually said that, submitting to a Russian leader. I think it’s outrageous. C ‘is dangerous, and it is unacceptable!’he said, without pronouncing the name of the former tenant of the White House. “Not since President Lincoln and the Civil War have our freedom and democracy been under attack in our country as they are today.”he added.
