“At least thirty” high schools in Ile-de-France targeted by attack threats after computer hacking

“At least thirty establishments” from Ile-de-France, “mainly high schools” have received “threat” with “apology and provocation of terrorism” since Wednesday, i.e. “several serious offenses”, announced Thursday March 21 the Ministry of National Education, which “condemns these serious threats”.

The RIle-de-France region evokes “the creation of a fraudulent site aimed at hacking” the digital workspace (ENT) of educational establishments, to which students, teachers and parents have access. [Après] this hacking, fraudulent emails were sent to high school students in Ile-de-France with threats of Islamist attack”continues the Region.

“Several doubts have already been resolved” Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, according to the Ministry of National Education, and “Specialized investigation services are mobilized (…) to identify the perpetrator(s). The Ile-de-France Region announces that it has filed a complaint with the anti-cybercrime section of the Paris public prosecutor’s office. For the moment, access to the ENT of Ile-de-France has been “fully suspended”assures the Region.

Several academies concerned

In Yvelines, the Versailles academy tells franceinfo that it has “activated a crisis unit to support school leaders and staff, sometimes in direct contact with the families who received the message”. “Classes were able to resume this [jeudi] morning in certain establishments after doubts have been resolved” carried out Wednesday evening.

According to the Créteil rectorate, “several high schools of the academy”which brings together the departments of Seine-et-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, are concerned. “The police were immediately informed of each situation” and intervened to ensure the safety of people.

In Hauts-de-Seine, thirteen establishments “at this stage” are concerned and complaints have been filed, the prefecture said.
