Canadian police have launched a manhunt for two suspects who also injured at least 15 people in the province of Saskatchewan.

At least ten people were killed on Sunday, September 4, in stabbing attacks in James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon, two localities in the Canadian province of Saskatchewanin, located in the west of the country. “Several other victims were injured, 15 of whom have so far been transported to various hospitals”according to local authorities who think that “some of the victims were targeted by the suspects and others were randomly attacked.”
Police forces were deployed “to their fullest” to arrest the two fleeing suspects. They are two men aged 30 and 31, with black hair and brown eyes. They allegedly fled in a black-colored Nissan Rogue, said Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore.
Justin Trudeau reacted on Twitter. “Today’s attacks in Saskatchewan are horrific and heartbreaking. My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and those who have been injured,” wrote the Prime Minister.

The town of James Smith Cree Nation, with a population of 2,500, has declared a state of local emergency. Saskatchewan residents have also been asked to stay home for safety. Diane Shier, a resident of Weldon, told local media Canadian Press that her neighbor, who lived with her grandson, had been killed: “I am very affected because I lost a good neighbour”.
