In China, historic floods are affecting the country. As of Monday April 22, the torrential rains have already caused several deaths and tens of thousands of residents have been evacuated.

Jiangwan (China) is invaded by water, Monday April 22. The small town is one of the worst hit by the floods hitting Guangdong province, in the south of the country. More than 100,000 residents had to be relocated, and at least four people died and ten were missing. The rain has been falling almost continuously since Thursday. Rivers are saturated, and in mountainous areas, bad weather has caused major landslides.

The floods of the century?

Lightning struck the tall towers of Canton (China), the provincial capital. Thunderstorms and strong winds are also forecast for Monday in Shenzen (China), a city that hosts the headquarters of many of the world’s most important high-tech companies. The weather forecast does not predict any improvement in the coming days. Local authorities say they fear floods of the century.
