At least 670 hectares of vegetation have already gone up in smoke, Tuesday July 12, in three fires which broke out in Landiras and Teste-de-Buch (Gironde), according to the prefecture of Gironde.

Since 4 p.m., two very virulent fires have affected Landiras, near Hostens, about forty kilometers south of Bordeaux, reports France Bleu Gironde. Six hundred hectares have already burned.

The plume of smoke is visible from the Bordeaux ring road. This fire broke out “in difficult terrain” and by “a swirling wind” which made the intervention of firefighters difficult, according to the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 33).
