Russia attacks Ukraine during the country’s Independence Day. At least 22 people were killed on Wednesday August 24 by a Russian strike on a railway station in central Ukraine, according to a new report announced in the evening by Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky.
“At the moment, there are 22 dead, including five people who burned in a car” and an 11-year-old boy, said Voldymyr Zelensky in his evening address. Earlier in the day, he announced a death toll of at least 15 and 50 injured, at the start of a speech before the UN Security Council, as the conflict enters its seventh month.
According to the Ukrainian president, a Russian missile targeted the station of Chaplino in the Dnipropetrovsk region in central Ukraine. “Four passenger carriages are on fire”he said. “Search and rescue operations will continue.he added. We will make the abusers pay for everything they have done. And we will drive them out of our land.”
