In Venice (Italy), a bus fell from a viaduct on the evening of Tuesday October 3, before catching fire. The wreckage is completely crushed. All night, firefighters were busy around the bus. Meticulous work, to try to find victims. “The impact was terrible. The bus fell more than ten meters. There were 39 people on board. For us the situation is really not easy. When it fell, the bus’s electric batteries caught fire“, says Mauro Longo, Venice firefighter.
At least one French
The accident took place between two localities in Venice, located on dry land. Inside the bus were many tourists, including Ukrainians and Germans, as well as at least one Frenchman. Everyone returned to a campsite. The bus suddenly changed direction. If all avenues are explored, “the main hypothesis is that the bus driver (…) could have felt unwell“, according to the governor of the region. The Venice public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation.
