Fifteen bodies were pulled out of the rubble of a residential building targeted by a Russian strike in Thassiv Iar, in eastern Ukraine, on Sunday July 10, rescuers announced. Five people were saved, and twenty-four are still under the rubble, according to the same source. Rescuers have announced that they are in contact with three living people buried under the debris.
The four-storey building was hit by a Russian Hurricane missile, according to the governor of the Donetsk region.
The predominantly Russian-speaking region of Donetsk is the priority target in Ukraine for Moscow, which has claimed to have captured the entire Luhansk region, following the Ukrainian withdrawal from the cities of Severodonetsk and Lyssychansk in recent weeks. According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, 591 civilians have been killed and 1,548 others injured so far in the Donetsk region since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24.
