At least 14 Eurostar trains to or from London (United Kingdom) were canceled on the morning of Saturday, December 30, due to flooding. Live from the Gare du Nord in Paris, journalist Claire Vérove explains that “all trains from and to London are currently cancelled. This follows flooding in a tunnel in Kent.“Many Britons who were hoping to return home for the New Year are still stranded.
Not always a fallback solution
French people who were planning to go to London are also disappointed. “We notably met a mother and her daughter who were hoping to see the fireworks on the Thames, but also a couple who saw their honeymoon and all the reservations they had already made fall through.“, continues the journalist. Thisyou interruption occurs during the busiest weekend of the year, and many travelers struggle to find a fallback solution. A resumption of traffic during the day is not yet ruled out by Eurostar.
