A place to be secured for Lens. Racing hosts Sevilla in a tense context, Tuesday December 12, during the sixth and final day of the group stage of the Champions League. The Sang et Or are third in group B with five points, three more than the Andalusian club, fourth and last in the group. If the Lensois can no longer qualify for the round of 16 of the C1, they can secure their third place, and therefore continue their European journey in the Europa League.
They would then play the C3 play-offs to continue their adventure. For this, it will be necessary at least a draw against the Sevillians to be third. In the event of defeat, the Andalusian club will take third place and Lens will be eliminated from all European competition due to a particular goal difference to its disadvantage. In the first leg, the two teams faced each other back to back in Spain (2-2).
