She was elected Miss Ile-de-France 2016 after being spotted a little by chance, by a member of the committee. “I had never seen a girl like me on TV. He convinced me by saying: ‘You have an interesting story, we will give you a microphone and you can say whatever you want in front of 10 million viewers’. So, I accepted”she explained to the 1 weekly.
Today, the beauty can boast of having a nice career. She succeeded in integrating Sciences Po. “It was the chance of my life because my high school was classified as ZEP. I was always a very good student because my mother was illiterate and she always told me that school would be the path to success. .”
Originally from Mauritius, Meggy Pyaneeandee’s family experienced difficult living conditions when they arrived in Paris: “There were four of us living in a 10m2”she recalls.
The main interested party also explains that she had to go into debt to save her parents: “My father worked as a mason and we were able to move to Blanc-Mesnil, in Seine Saint Denis, where my parents had their house built (…) My parents had bought the Réaumur studio on credit from the owner of the time, but when he died, his niece took my parents to court because she was questioning the purchase of the property (…) My parents lost the case and found themselves in debt of hundreds of thousands of euros, the house was mortgaged. I bought it back otherwise they were going to lose it. I’m very happy to have done it but it’s tragic to think that my first job is financing such a loan.”
