A young pedophile who exchanged astronomical quantities of child pornography could have his wish granted and stay in prison for a “long time”. Alexandre Théberge considers that his pedophilia is “progressing” since his last conviction.
The 25-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday at the Longueuil courthouse to charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. At the request of the Crown, Judge Christian Jarry ordered that the accused be evaluated in psychiatry to determine whether he should be declared a long-term or dangerous offender.
Alexandre Théberge took no time to violate his parole conditions upon his release from prison. He had just served a one-year prison sentence for offenses related to child pornography. After a week of freedom, he was accessing images of children on his smartphone and sharing them with other pedophiles online.
The young Longueuil resident was finally caught by transmitting 370 files of child pornography on the Discord and Kik applications. The videos shared by Théberge showed children under ten years old and babies in diapers. The attacks were violent and disturbing.
Alexandre Théberge confessed everything during his police interrogation. He even admitted that his pedophilia was “progressing” and that he was consuming “more horrible” child pornography than before his last prison sentence. In addition, he said he loved prison and wanted to be sent there for a long time.
The quantities transacted by Théberge are hard to imagine: 1 terabyte of data, or 1000 gigabytes or 1 trillion bytes.
