Asterix’s next album will be called “L’Iris blanc” and will be released in October 2023.

A new adventure for Asterix and Obelix. The next album in the saga will be called White Iris, announced the Albert René editions. The release date is set for October 26, 2023. “The iris is a symbol of benevolence and fulfillment”deciphered Fabcaro, new screenwriter of the series of comics, on RTL. The designer remains the one Albert Uderzo had designated as successor from the 35th album in 2013, namely Didier Conrad.

Fabcaro, 49, comic book author and novelist, is only the fourth screenwriter of the adventures of the irreducible Gaul, after Goscinny, Uderzo and Jean-Yves Ferri. He is known for his hilarious satires of our society. His great success Zai zai zai zai in 2015, told of the escape of a man taken to task for having forgotten his loyalty card at a store, with a dose of nonsense rarely seen. The last album of the Asterix series, Asterix and the Griffin in 2021, had sold over 1.5 million copies that year, in just over two months.
