“The observed extension and diversification of sectarian phenomena deserve a significant public effort, identified means increased both in terms of the number of civil servants assigned full-time to its missions, and in the operating budget”, believe these organizations, including the Human Rights League and the collective of health professionals No FakeMed, which fights against disinformation in the field of health.
In April 2021, the Minister for Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, announced the “reinforcement” of the mission, claiming to multiply “by ten the means of Miviludes”, now at “one million euros to support associations in particular” and “better finance local initiatives and associations in the field”.
Gold, “in view of the budgets provided for by the 2022 finance law, the account is not there”, estimate the associations, according to which the million euros allocated in 2021 is “at least to be renewed in the face of growing needs”. Likewise, “the human and financial resources directly allocated to Miviludes are very insufficient to correct the current understaffing” and “allow better functioning”, according to them.
