Associated Press, France 5, Editions Sidwaya and France Info-RTS rewarded

Two reports from France Télévisions won awards, while on the radio, the international jury awarded the landing committee prize to Maurine Mercier, from France Info – RTS.

Most of the award-winning reports deal with the war in Ukraine. The Bayeux Prize for war correspondents was awarded on Saturday 8 October to content broadcast by the Associated Press in photos, France 5 in TV, France Info-RTS in radio and Editions Sidwaya in the written press. With the exception of Burkina Faso for the written press, the coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine won all the first prizes of this 29th edition where Afghanistan also occupied a central place.

In television, Théo Maneval and Pierre Dehoorne win the first Amnesty International prize for “Viktor and the kiss of war”, produced in Ukraine for the program “C dans l’air” on France 5. Journalists tell the story of Viktor, a former Ukrainian museum curator grazed by a bullet, returning home after bombardments by the Russian army. As for Dorothée Ollieric, Nicolas Auer, Mortaza Behboudi, they receive the Normandy Region Prize for high school students and apprentices for their report “Afghan girls sold to survive”, broadcast on France 2 and franceinfo TV (channel 27).

On the radio side, the international jury awarded the landing committee prize to Maurine Mercier (France Info – RTS) who had collected the testimony of a mother and her daughter on “two weeks of rape and terror in Boutcha”again in Ukraine.

In photo, Evgeniy Maloletka of Associated Press (AP) is rewarded for his multimedia report with Mstyslav Chernov (Video image prize) on the fall of Mariupol. The public prize also goes to an AP photoreporter, Vadim Ghirda.

In the written press, the first prize of the international jury is awarded to Mariam Ouedraogo for her report in Burkina Faso Dablo-Kaya axis: the road to women’s hellpublished by Sidwaya and the Prix West France Jean Marin to Nicolas Delesalle for Ukraine, the convoy of the last chancepublished in Paris Match.
