The New England Patriots rehired Joe Judge as an offensive assistant on Tuesday.
Posted at 8:36 p.m.
Judge was fired as head coach of the New York Giants on January 11.
An assistant with the Pats for eight seasons, Judge will again support Bill Belichick, after going 10-23 in two seasons at the helm of the Giants.
This is the latest case of a deputy repatriated by Belichick.
Matt Patricia returned as a senior advisor last season, after three years as head coach of the Detroit Lions.
Originally, Judge was hired by the Patriots as a special teams assistant in 2012. He was promoted to coordinator of that brigade in 2015.
His most recent position in New England was leading special teams and wide ends, in 2019.
