Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | Two more deaths

(Montreal) Quebec authorities are reporting two new deaths linked to COVID-19, according to raw data published Sunday by the Ministry of Health.

We now deplore 15,488 deaths linked to COVID-19 since its appearance in Quebec.

New data on hospitalizations was not available Sunday afternoon. As of Saturday, 1,025 hospitalizations related to COVID-19 were reported. There were also 20 people in intensive care.

Authorities on Sunday confirmed 496 new cases for a total of 1,073,044 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

According to the VaccinTrackerQC site, 5,302 doses of vaccine have been administered in the past 24 hours, including 3,149 second booster doses.

The percentage of people aged 5 and over who received a first dose is 91.52%. It is also reported that 87.89% of the eligible Quebec population received a second dose. So far, 59.82% of eligible Quebecers have received a first booster dose and 13.58% have received a second.

Among those aged 60 and over, the percentage of people who received a fourth dose is 43.2%.
