Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | Hospitalizations remain stable, 12 new deaths reported

(Montreal) Twelve other Quebecers died after contracting COVID-19, according to the new government report, which shows a relative stabilization in the hospital system.

Of the new deaths, two occurred in the past 24 hours and seven two to seven days ago. Four deaths date back more than seven days.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 18,144 deaths linked to COVID-19.

The portrait remained relatively stable in the hospital network. With a modest increase of five patients, a total of 1,316 people were hospitalized, including 437 due to the disease.

Eight fewer people ended up in intensive care, for a total of 26. Of these, 13 were being treated specifically for COVID-19.

The number of cases remained relatively low, at 543, but this figure is certainly underestimated due to the restricted access to screening centres. Quebecers reported 39 rapid tests on Monday, 33 of which came back positive.

On the vaccination side, 1304 doses were administered on Monday.
