Of these patients, 140 are in intensive care. This is down 13 from Saturday.

There are nine more deaths due to the virus.

The most recent data show 1,870 new cases of COVID-19.

Limitations on screening, however, make these figures less representative.

The number of active outbreaks decreased from 1130 to 1128.

A total of 21,637 analyzes were performed on Saturday.

Hospitalizations and deaths down in Ontario

Key COVID-19 indicators — new cases, hospitalizations and deaths — are down again in Ontario.

Authorities reported 1,540 pandemic-related hospitalizations on Sunday, up from 1,704 the day before. There are 402 patients in intensive care, 12 less than the previous assessment.

However, not all hospitals report their results on weekends.

The province deplores 18 additional deaths.

Authorities recorded 2,265 new cases on Saturday, although tighter access to PCR tests means that toll is likely higher.
