Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | 707 new cases, three deaths

Quebec reported on Sunday an increase of 707 new cases of COVID-19 and three deaths. Hospitalizations are down.

The Department of Health and Social Services has 707 new cases of COVID-19. The new cases reported on Sunday bring the daily average to 676.

The most recent data in the province show three more deaths.

The number of hospitalizations has fallen to a total of 199 people hospitalized today, two less than the day before. There are now 41 people in intensive care, a decrease of four.

The number of tests performed on November 20 stood at 23,427. The positivity rate is 3%, still below the 5% threshold recommended by the World Health Organization.

To date, more than 77,000 cases of worrying variants have been identified in Quebec since the start of the pandemic, including 45,661 cases of the alpha variant and 25,599 of the delta variant.

Vaccination continues

The Ministry of Health indicates that 5,933 additional injections have been administered. Of those, 2,393 people reached out for the first time on Friday.

So far, 91% of the population aged 12 and over have received their first dose and 88% have received their second dose.
