Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | 634 new cases, four deaths

Quebec reported on Sunday an increase of 634 new cases of COVID-19 and four deaths. Hospitalizations are down.

The Department of Health and Social Services has identified 634 new cases of COVID-19. New infections reported on Sunday bring the daily average to 639.

The most recent data in the province show four more deaths.

The number of hospitalizations has fallen to a total of 189 people hospitalized today, nine fewer than the day before. There are now 42 people in intensive care, a decrease of two.

The number of tests carried out on November 13 was 25,502. The positivity rate is 2.6%, still below the 5% threshold recommended by the World Health Organization.

To date, more than 77,000 cases of worrying variants have been identified in Quebec since the start of the pandemic, including 45,661 cases of the alpha variant and 25,599 of the delta variant.

There are 480 active outbreaks in the province.

Vaccination continues

The Ministry of Health indicates that 6457 additional injections have been administered. Of these, 2,291 people reached out for the first time on Saturday.

So far, 91% of the population aged 12 and over have received their first dose and 87% have received their second dose.
