Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | 567 new cases, one death

Quebec reported 567 new cases of COVID-19 and one death on Sunday. Hospitalizations are down.

The Department of Health and Social Services has 567 new cases of COVID-19. New infections reported on Sunday bring the daily average to 470.

The most recent data in the province show one new death.

The number of hospitalizations has fallen to a total of 236 people hospitalized now, eight fewer than the day before. There are now 62 people in intensive care, down from five.

The number of tests carried out on October 30 was 23,376. The positivity rate is 2.1%, still below the 5% threshold recommended by the World Health Organization.

To date, more than 77,000 cases of worrying variants have been identified in Quebec since the start of the pandemic, including 45,661 cases of the alpha variant and 25,599 of the Delta variant.

Vaccination continues

The Ministry of Health says 7,523 additional injections have been administered. Of those, 2,676 people reached out for the first time on Saturday.

So far, 90% of the population aged 12 and over have received their first dose and 87% have received their second dose.
